Friday night in Ahmedabad wasn’t just about runs, records and a series win; it also had a softer, off-field moment that caught fans’ attention.

After Hardik Pandya tore South Africa apart in the fifth T20I, his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma shared a glimpse of the celebration that followed and it quickly did the rounds on social media.

Pandya was in beast mode at the Narendra Modi Stadium as he slammed a 16-ball fifty. And when the job was done, the emotion spilled over. Cameras caught Hardik blowing flying kisses towards Mahieka, who was in the stands watching the carnage unfold.

The night didn’t end at the stadium. Soon after India sealed the series, Mahieka took to Instagram and posted a story that felt straight out of a movie montage.

The clip showed Hardik Pandya driving through Ahmedabad, music on full volume, vibing and singing along while Mahieka sat beside him. The Indian all-rounder seemed relaxed and it showed a different side of a man who had just lit up international cricket.

A record-breaking night for Pandya

The celebration came on the back of something special. Pandya smashed 63 off 25 balls, bringing up his half-century in just 16 deliveries, the second-fastest fifty by an Indian in T20Is.

He walked away with the Player of the Match award as India beat South Africa by 30 runs to clinch the series 3-1.

On-field dominance backs up the vibe

India piled on the runs thanks to a strong partnership between Pandya and Tilak Varma, while cameos from Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube added fuel to the fire. Crossing 230 on a black-soil pitch was always going to put South Africa under pressure.

In the chase, the game turned sharply once Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy got into the act. From cruising at one stage, the Proteas lost their way, with Chakravarthy finishing with four wickets and Bumrah breaking the backbone of the chase.
