In a contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats, India edged past Pakistan to clinch the Asia Cup 2025 title in a dramatic last-over thriller. Chasing 147, it was young Tilak Varma who stood tall, producing a calm yet fearless 69* that guided the Men in Blue to glory.

The victory sealed not just another Asia Cup crown for India but also cemented their dominance over Pakistan, having beaten them thrice in the tournament. Yet, while the match was historic, the post-match celebrations quickly stole the limelight.

Arshdeep Singh shares video mimicking Abrar Ahmed’s celebration

The first dig came from Arshdeep Singh, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana, who in a video posted by Arshdeep on his Instagram, mimicked Abrar Ahmed’s infamous celebration right in front of Sanju Samson, the very gesture Abrar had used earlier after dismissing the Indian wicket-keeper.

Player of the Tournament Abhishek Sharma took it to his Instagram and posted with a caption reading “Wins make the loudest noise, always.” Soon after, hero Tilak Varma followed with a post saying “Talking is easy, winning takes character,” a clear jibe at Pakistan’s unnecessary verbal spat on the field.

Hardik Pandya, who could not take part in the final, also joined the fun by posting a hilarious picture of him pointing “3-0”, mocking Pakistan’s triple defeat against India in the tournament. But what transpired after all these would take the banter to the next level, leaving fans in splits across social media.

The matter truly went out of control when Team India players, led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, staged a mock celebration with an invisible trophy alongside the entire squad and support staff, pointedly refusing to acknowledge Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi, who had already sparked controversy by abruptly leaving the presentation with the original silverware.

To add fuel to the fire, the likes of Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and captain Suryakumar Yadav himself shared pictures on social media holding a virtual trophy with a trophy emoji. Right arm offie Varun Chakravarthy also cheekily posed with a coffee cup, adding a bit of his spice to the banter.

The Men in Blue’s united gesture with the invisible trophy after the Asia Cup win set social media ablaze, showcasing not just their cricketing supremacy but also their cheeky wit. It was a statement that India did not only outclass Pakistan on the field, but managed to mock them brilliantly off it too.
