In a special post, Indian cricketer KL Rahul wished his wife Athiya Shetty on her 32nd birthday. Rahul, who got married to Athiya in 2023, shared cute pictures of her on his Instagram to extend a heartfelt birthday wish.

KL Rahul, struggling to unleash his true potential on the field, was dropped from the final two Tests against New Zealand. After twin failures in the Bengaluru Test, Rahul was shown the door as Sarfaraz Khan was given his much-awaited due.

That being said, KL Rahul will have a chance at redemption in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He is likely to be included in the India-A squad for extra practice and is more or less confirmed to start over Sarfaraz in the playing XI.

KL Rahul celebrates Athiya Shetty's birthday

Before the decisive Test tour begins, KL Rahul is enjoying some time off-field with his family and wife, Athiya Shetty. The Bollywood actress celebrates her 32nd birthday today, and Rahul put together a sweet and special social media post for her.

Rahul took to Instagram and shared a few images of their special moments to wish Athiya a ‘crazy’ birthday. Athiya reacted to the post with a comment saying ‘Love You.’

KL Rahul’s brief romance with Athiya Shetty turned into a life-long commitment when the duo got married in 2023. Bollywood senior actor Suniel Shetty and Athiya's dad hosted a simple wedding at his family bungalow in Khandala to celebrate the love birds' union.

Tough road ahead for KL Rahul

Times are tough for Indian cricket in Test format as they lost a 3-game home Test series against New Zealand. They must win 4 of the next 5 games against Australia to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) finals. KL Rahul, meanwhile, is struggling to retain his place with competition from Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel intensifying.

In the Bengaluru Test, Rahul accumulated only 12 runs in two innings, leaving India hanging out to dry. As a result, he was dropped for the remainder of the series. However, Rahul will make a comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will be a make-or-break series with respect to his Test career.
