Choreographer and influencer Dhanashree Verma has broken her silence on her much-talked-about divorce with Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. On a reality show, she shocked viewers by revealing infidelity very early in her marriage.

Dhanashree and Chahal tied the knot in 2020 after just months of knowing each other. However, their marriage hit rough waters a couple of years later, and in 2025, the couple got mutually divorced.

That being said, Dhanashree Verma is currently participating in a reality show, ‘Rise and Fall’, hosted by businessman Ashneer Grover. During a candid segment, actress Kubbra Sait asked her when she realised that her marriage would not last.

Without hesitation, Dhanashree replied, “First year. Caught him in the second month.” She indirectly accused Yuzvendra Chahal of cheating just weeks after their grand wedding.

Alongside her shocking revelation, Dhanashree also cleared the air about the persistent rumours surrounding alimony payments. Speaking to co-contestant Aditya Narayan, she explained, “It happened quickly because it was mutual; that’s why when people say alimony, it’s wrong.”

Verma further added that she does not feel the need to respond to every rumour about her personal life, as she is only answerable to the people who are close to her.

Chahal denied cheating allegations in a podcast

Before the reality show was aired, Yuzvendra Chahal had appeared on a podcast with Raj Shamani, where he addressed his divorce and said that his marriage with Dhanashree Verma deteriorated over time.

He stated that both parties decided to remain private until the separation was final. Not only that, Chahal addressed the period when he was accused of infidelity, saying, “I have never cheated in my life. I am not that kind of person."

On a more symbolic note, Yuzvendra Chahal also clarified his intention behind wearing a “Be Your Own Sugar Daddy” T-shirt at their final divorce hearing. He said it wasn’t meant to dramatise things but to convey a message.
