'The Test,' a documentary series produced by Amazon Prime Video in collaboration with Cricket Australia, previously garnered acclaim for its compelling narrative that captures the essence of the Australian cricket team's experiences, both on and off the field.

In its first two seasons, the docuseries showcased the Australian test team's journey as they tackled an injury-riddled Indian side during the infamous Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Thus, owing to a rousing response, CA has decided to release its third season of the documentary series. The cricketing body announced the same via media release earlier today.

As per the official statement, the brand new season will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Australian team's journey during the 2023 England tour, wherein they retained Ashes titles and the subsequent World Test championship finals held against the Virat Kohli-led Indian side.

"The Test" Season 3 to release next year

The 2023 Ashes series was filled with excitement, controversies, and drama, which has become part and parcel of the series at this point. While the English side unleashed their "Bazball" approach, the Aussies stood tall to emerge victorious with a conventional and aggressive approach.

As far as the test championship finals are concerned, the Aussies hardly broke a sweat to claim their maiden title.

Having said that, "The Test Season Three' is expected to showcase the resilience and determination of the players as they navigate the complexities of the challenging matchups. Additionally, the documentary may delve into the personal stories of the players, providing a holistic view of their lives beyond the cricketing arena.

The fresh season of "The Test" series is produced by Cricket Australia and Whooshka Media in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios. The episodes will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video across 240 countries and territories in 2024

CA Head of Broadcasting and Production Richard Ostroff issued a statement claiming the new season to be the best one fans have ever witnessed.

“The third season of The Test captures the gripping tussle between Australia and India at the World Test Championship Final, and the extraordinary behind-the-scenes drama of the 2023 Ashes in England. Cricket fans in Australia and across the world will ride all the emotions and tight contests as our players battle it out on the biggest stages of all. This series will be the best yet," said Richard Ostroff.
