India are currently propelling towards their third Champions Trophy win. The Indian captain Rohit Sharma has provided the team with an ideal start in a challenging chase.

India is up against New Zealand in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. The match is being played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in United Arab Emirates.

Mitchell Santner, the captain of the New Zealand team won the toss ahead of the game and opted to bat first. Courtesy of a steady knock by Daryl Mitchell and a late flurry of boundaries by Michael Bracewell, the Kiwis were able to post 251 runs on the board at the end of their 50 overs.

Rohit Sharma's Second Ball Six Gets India On The Way

The Dubai wicket appeared slow in during New Zealand's batting and given the way the wicket behaved in the first innings, it was expected to be a challenging chase for India. The only way India could have taken an advantage in the game was through a blazing start by Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill.

The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma started off the innings in his vintage style with a gorgeous pull shot. On the second delivery of the innings, Jamieson bowled a short ball at the middle and leg stump line. Sharma spotted the length early and rocked back to pull the ball away over the square leg fence for a huge maximum.

The shot from Sharma was an indication of the intent he has come out to bat with. The Indian fans will hope that Rohit continues his knock longer in this innings and leaves a match-winning impact.
