The Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp is no stranger to light-hearted moments, but 14-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi and 17-year-old all-rounder Ayush Mhatre took camaraderie to the next level with a rib-tickling exchange over a bat trade after their recent IPL match.

Known for his cheeky antics and infamous "bat bargain" stories, Vaibhav lived up to his reputation during a candid interaction with a Rajasthan Royals' social media team.

Vaibhav's Clever Banter Foils Mhatre's Attempt

In the social media video, the camera crew, aware of Vaibhav’s knack for playful negotiations, prompted him to ask Ayush for his bat. Vaibhav, with a straight face, deadpanned, “Are ye apna bhai hai, ye dega nahi…” (He’s my brother, he won’t give it…).

He then says that Ayush is aking him for his bat. “Ye merese mang raha hai batao… Merese koi bat le pata hai abhi tak batao aap?” (He’s asking me for a bat… Has anyone ever managed to take a bat from me? Tell me!).

The Young Guns' Trajectory So Far

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old left-handed batter for Rajasthan Royals (RR), has been one of the youngest sensations in IPL 2025. Making his debut against Lucknow Super Giants, he started with a six on the first ball and scored 34 runs.

His crowning achievement came against Gujarat Titans, where he blasted a blazing 101 off just 38 balls, becoming the youngest centurion in IPL history and recording the second-fastest century in the tournament. Vaibhav’s fearless approach and ability to dominate bowling attacks have made him a key player for RR, contributing significantly to their victories and showcasing immense potential for the future.

Mhatre's Stellar Campaign

Ayush Mhatre, on the other hand, has been a breath of fresh air for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025, transforming their traditionally orthodox batting approach with his fearless strokeplay.

The 17-year-old, brought in as a replacement for the injured Ruturaj Gaikwad, has impressed with aggressive innings including a standout 94 off 48 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Other notable performances include 32 off 15 against Mumbai Indians and 43 off 20 versus Rajasthan Royals. Mhatre’s intent and ability to accelerate the innings have injected much-needed aggression into CSK’s middle order, signalling a potential shift in their batting DNA despite the team’s overall struggles this season.
