Jasprit Bumrah unlocks major milestone vs WI; joins Kohli, Dhoni, Rohit in legendary Indian list

In a significant development, Jasprit Bumrah has become the first fast bowler from India to play 50 matches in all three formats -Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. The star pacer reached this milestone during the ongoing second Test match against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 10, 2025.

Bumrah joins Dhoni, Kohli, and Rohit in elite club

It is important to mention that before Bumrah, the other cricketers who had played 50 or more matches in all three formats include - MS Dhoni (who was the first to achieve this feat), Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and KL Rahul. However, Bumrah is the first Indian fast bowler to do so.

Jasprit Bumrah's career

Jasprit Bumrah has played 50 Test matches for India. In these, he has taken a total of 222 wickets at an economy rate of 2.78. He has also achieved 15 five-wicket hauls in this format. With the bat, Bumrah has scored 341 runs, and his highest score in Tests is unbeaten 34. In ODIs, Bumrah has featured in 89 matches and picked up 149 wickets at an economy rate of 4.59. 

Bumrah has played 75 T20Is, where he has taken 96 wickets at an economy rate of 6.35. His best figures in a T20I match is three wickets for 7 runs. Along with this, Bumrah’s total wickets (Test+ODIs+T20Is) now stand at 467 with an average of 20.60 and an economy of 3.68. 

Among Indian fast bowlers, only three players are ahead of him - Kapil Dev (687 wickets), Zaheer Khan (597 wickets) and Javagal Srinath (551 wickets).

In the first Test of the ongoing series against West Indies (WI), Jasprit Bumrah performed well and took three wickets, combining the first innings and second innings.
