Actor Vicky Kaushal Draws Cricket Analogy For 'Animal' and 'Sam Bahadur' Clash

The Indian film industry has witnessed a unique box office contest with the upcoming release of two highly anticipated films: Ranbir Kapoor's "Animal" and Vicky Kaushal’s "Sam Bahadur."

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, "Animal" boasts an impressive cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol, and has been creating buzz for its compelling storyline and intense music. However, it's the film's release clash with "Sam Bahadur" that's grabbing headlines.

Drawing a parallel with cricket, Vicky Kaushal shared his perspective on this cinematic clash in a recent conversation with The Indian Express. He likened the simultaneous release of both movies to two opening batsmen stepping onto the cricket field for the same team.

In his view, rather than seeing this as a clash, it should be perceived as two distinct yet collaborative efforts to bolster Hindi cinema.

“When two opening batsmen come to the crease, playing for the same team, you won’t say that the two batsmen are clashing with each other; they are playing for a single team, so we are playing for Hindi cinema,” said Kaushal.

Kaushal further elaborated on the analogy, comparing one film to a batter hitting sixes while the other played a more measured, strategic game, focusing on singles and maintaining the strike.

As to which film will emerge as the box office 'big hitter', Kaushal gracefully deferred to the audience, highlighting that ultimately, it is the viewers who will render the final verdict on which film resonates more powerfully.
