Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna came under heavy criticism from fans after his costly bowling spell in the second ODI against South Africa at Raipur. As bowlers failed to defend 358 runs, Prasidh’s figures became a talking point.

Krishna struggled to find his rhythm and control from the very start. The South African batters attacked him with confidence, targeting his pace and lack of movement.

Prasidh Krishna trolled in the Instagram comment section

Throughout the second inning, Prasidh Krishna went for runs in almost every over he bowled, giving the Proteas a big advantage during the chase.

His lines were inconsistent, and he failed to build pressure on the batters, thus making it easy for them to score freely.

As his spell went on, frustration began to show on the field as well. Former captain Rohit Sharma was seen having a stern word with him after a particularly expensive over.

All in all, Prasidh Krishna leaked 85 runs in 8.2 overs with 2 wickets at an economy of 10.20. Soon as India lost the game, social media was flooded with reactions.

Krishna's Instagram comment section was filled with critical comments, as some asked him to hang his boots and termed him a 'run machine.'

Some comments were harsh and full of memes. However, there were also some responses that attempted to remind everyone that any player can have one bad game but that does not equal their overall skills as a player.

A high economy rate is a recurring problem for Prasidh Krishna

Before the Raipur ODI, Prasidh Krishna’s Test career hit a worrying low after just five matches.

The Indian pacer holds the record for the worst economy rate in Test history (minimum 500 balls), at 5.26.

Krishna has struggled with control and consistency, especially on the England tour, where batters have punished his wayward bowling. He admitted fault in India’s loss in the Headingley Test.

Now, his form is again going haywire in ODIs. This has raised serious doubts about Prasidh's long-term future in international cricket.
