Zimbabwe will host a thrilling T20I tri-series featuring powerhouse sides South Africa and New Zealand alongside the home team. Scheduled to run from July 14 to 26, the 2025 Zimbabwe T20I Tri-Nation Series promises two weeks of high-octane cricket action, with all matches set to be played at the historic Harare Sports Club.
The tournament will adopt a double round-robin format, where each team will face the other two teams twice during the group stage. The top two teams on the points table will progress to the final on July 26.
New Zealand and South Africa will lock horns in the tournament opener for both sides on July 16, following the series opener between hosts Zimbabwe and South Africa on July 14. New Zealand will then take on Zimbabwe on July 18.
In a notable squad update, Devon Conway has been recalled to the New Zealand team for the tri-series. Conway replaces Finn Allen, who sustained a foot injury during the MLC) 2025 season. NZC has also included Mitchell Hay, Jimmy Neesham, Tim Robinson as additional squad members.
Zimbabwe will be led by veteran all-rounder Sikandar Raza. Tafadzwa Tsiga, a consistent performer in the domestic circuit, has earned his maiden T20I call-up. Newman Nyamhuri also gets a nod to add variation to the bowling attack.
Rassie van der Dussen has been appointed as the captain of the SA squad for this tri-series. Corbin Bosch, Lhuan-dré Pretorius headline the list of newcomers. They are joined by Rubin Hermann and left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy, who will look to make a mark in the shortest format.
