You are just humiliating the guy in the media: Shoaib Akhtar backs Virat Kohli

On his Youtube channel, former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar has come out in support of the former Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

Kohli has been going through a rough patch, and he has not managed to breach the century run mark since 2019. Poor form has continued to persist with him, even during the ongoing international assignments against England.

Shoaib Akhtar lashes out at Virat's critics

Akhtar, known for his strong opinions, has said that people should not even think about dropping Kohli.

"I am hearing a lot of criticism about Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli is finished; these type of things other people are saying to me. I told them, Virat Kohli is the greatest player, in the last 10 years," said Akhtar.

Some former cricketers, including Kapil Dev, have openly criticized Kohli for his substandard performances in recent matches.

"You are just humiliating the guy in the media, to discredit him is not right, I do not know how can one talk about dropping him?" stated Akhtar.

However, Akhtar has some advice for the Indian batting maestro.

"Virat should focus on his batting, if you do not perform, there is nothing wrong. All these things are happening so that you become a bigger cricketer," he concluded.

India to tour West Indies after England tour

India's ODI series against England is slated to conclude on 17th July, with the Indian team then moving to the Caribbean for 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. However, Kohli has been rested for the entire series against West Indies.
