The World Test Championship continues to be a platform where the true essence of Test cricket is celebrated, with teams showcasing their skills, determination, and spirit on the field. 

WTC is becoming increasingly competitive with each passing edition, especially with the introduction of new formats like Bazball adding more dynamism to the game.

So far, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa have triumphed in the World Test Championship in the seasons 2019–2021, 2021–2023, and 2023-25, respectively.

​WTC Points Table Calculator​: How are points counted?

According to the World Test Championship points system, teams are rewarded with points after each Test match for wins, losses, and draws. The points are being awarded as follows:  

  • 12 points for a win
  • 6 points for a tie
  • 4 points for a draw

Teams are ranked according to the percentage of points won. The Top two teams progress to the final in 2027. Moreover, Points are deducted for slow over rates.

And. According to the WTC points system, teams are rewarded with a point after every Test Match, depending on the result of the game.  

Q.2. Where is the 2025 WTC final?

And. The WTC 2025 Final was played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground between Australia and South Africa. Where the Proteas won the mace, defeating the defending champions by 5 wickets. 

Q.3. Has India won the WTC?

And. No, India has not won the WTC yet. India featured in the maiden World Test Championship final in the 2019-21 cycle, but, lost to New Zealand. 

Q.4. What if the WTC final draw?

And. As per item 16.3.3 of the Playing Conditions for the World Test Championship Final, “If the match is drawn, tied, or abandoned, the teams shall be declared joint winners of the ICC World Test Championship,” the condition reads.
