The West Indies Champion team in the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 will not only bring their Caribbean flair to the tournament but will also come up with something unique and never seen before, as the team will don what is being called the "most expensive cricket jersey." The likes of Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo will be seen wearing the newly designed kit for the tournament.
The jersey is a custom-designed kit created by Dubai-based fashion luxury brand, Lorenze, and they will collaborate with Channel 2 Group Corporation.
Jersey designed with Gold
Interestingly, the jersey, which the West Indian Champions will wear, will be custom-designed with 18K Gold, and will come in three different editions - 30g, 20g, 10g. As per Lorenze founder, the gold-embellished jersey is a tribute to West Indian cricket and their heritage, culture and royalty.
“This landmark release is a tribute to the rich heritage and legendary spirit of West Indies cricket greats — from Sir Clive Lloyd to Chris Gayle and the modern generation of icons. This isn’t just sportswear — it’s wearable history. A seamless fusion of royal craftsmanship, cultural pride, and sporting excellence, the Lorenze jersey stands as a collector’s item and global statement of luxury in sport," commented Raj Karan Duggal, Founder of Lorenze, as quoted by News18.
The jersey describes West Indian journey from the likes of Clive Lloyd to Chris Gayle and other Caribbean cricketers.
Chairman of Channel 2 Group Corporation, and owner of West Indian Champions, Ajay Sethi lauded the West Indian side for their contribution and gave a fitting tribute to them.
“West Indies Champions have many legends in the team, and the jersey is a fitting tribute to all the greats of West Indian cricket. World Championship of Legends is one of the best cricket competitions around the world, and we aim to clinch the trophy this year."
