The World Cup 2023 is around the corner and the confusion regarding the schedule of the marquee even just continues to pile on. Recently, there was a news regarding the rescheduling of the India-Pakistan game that is to be held in Ahmedabad and some other matches are also likely to be rescheduled.

Now, a big news is coming up that Kolkata Police has raised concern over providing security for the Pakistan-England game that is to be held at Eden Gardens on November 12.  It is a Kali Puja day in Kolkata, so that could be the reason for Kolkata Police raising their concerns.

Interestingly, the plan currently is that if Pakistan qualifies for the semifinal of the World Cup, they will play their game in Eden Gardens, Kolkata as security could be a bigger concern in Wankhede. This news now raises some serious concerns over the current World Cup schedule and we might just see some big changes in the schedule or maybe even in the venues of the World Cup.

The World Cup schedule was already released quite late with doubts over Pakistan's participation. However, PCB and Pakistan government have given a green signal now and it is upto the BCCI and Indian government to provide the best security possible.

Also, according to the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, multiple teams have asked for some tweaking in their schedule of the World Cup and it remains to be seen how this saga unfolds with World  Cup just 2 months away.

The World Cup 2023 will be a 10-team affair in a round-robin format and England are the defending champions. They are one of the favourites again along with the home team, India and Australia.
