Australian opener, David Warner has delighted fans worldwide by joining the global 'Barbie' mania with his latest Instagram reel. Interestingly, the southpaw added a cricket-themed twist to the trend.

Warner leaps into 'Barbie' mania with a cricketing touch

Warner's new Barbie video has captured the internet's attention, where he is seen brilliantly catching a cricket ball while diving into a pool. The video, which was posted on his official Instagram account, features Warner sporting a pink swimsuit in tribute to the iconic Barbie colour theme.

"Ken In Action," Warner wrote on the video, referencing the male lead from the Barbie movie, which recently smashed box-office records, thanks to acclaimed performances by Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and direction by Greta Gerwig.

The creative twist in the video was further enhanced by the background score - the cult classic ‘Barbie Girl’ song by Aqua. Warner’s quirky tribute to the Barbie frenzy is spreading like wildfire on social media platforms with fans showering their love and admiration.

"Entry on point," was the caption that Warner added to the video.

Warner's fun-filled video comes after he recently returned to Australia following a long England tour. His return marks a successful cricket season for Australia, which saw the team clinch the World Test Championship and retain the Ashes 2023 after a tie at 2-2.

Currently, Warner is enjoying a much-needed vacation with his family, frequently sharing sneak peeks of their leisure time on social media.

Despite retaining the Ashes, Warner's performance in the series raised questions about his cricketing future. He managed to score only 285 runs across ten innings which gave birth to speculations about his possible retirement.

However, the dynamic opener promptly put an end to such rumours by stating that he has no plans to retire from Test cricket after the England tour.

Soon, Warner will be seen back on the cricket field, as Australia is set to play a T20I series in South Africa later this month.
