The 13th edition of the Women's ODI World Cup is all set to start on September 30 with India, the home team, featuring in the curtain raiser. The tournament will be played in India and Sri Lanka across five venues which includes Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru that might host the final of the competition on November 2. However, if Pakistan qualify, the final is likely to be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Pakistan Likely To Play All Matches Outside India

Along with Bengaluru, cities like Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam will host the matches in India. If Pakistan qualify for the knockouts, they will play the first semifinal on October 29 in Colombo. If they don't, Guwahati will host that match. The second semifinal will be played on October 30 in Bengaluru.

The addition of Colombo as the venue is because of the tensions between India and Pakistan. The Indian men's team did not travel to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025, and after the Pahalgam attack, the relations between the two nations have deteriorated further.

Women's World Cup Returns To India After 12 Years

India last hosted Women's ODI World Cup in 2013, while the previous edition of the tournament was played in New Zealand in 2022. It will be an eight-team affair this year which includes nations like India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Australia are the defending champions while England were the runners-up in 2022. India, the hosts, have never won the Women's ODI World Cup trophy and only England and New Zealand have won the title apart from the mighty Aussies.
