This evening, Mumbai Indians (MI) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the 20th group-stage match of the IPL 2025 season. The high-voltage clash will be played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Will Rohit Sharma Play MI vs RCB Match?
Former MI captain Rohit Sharma was excluded from the playing XI in the last game against Lucknow SuperGiants. Rohit had sustained a last-minute knee injury, which sidelined him from the riveting encounter.
In fact, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene had stated that Rohit would require a few days to recover from the injury. However, he has hit the nets, facing the MI bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the crucial clash against RCB.
According to the latest visuals, Rohit seems fit and fine to take on RCB in tonight's game at Wankhede Stadium. However, given that he has just recovered from an injury, MI might use him only as a batter and replace him with an impact substitute later in the game.
If MI bat first, Rohit will likely come in as the opener; while he could be replaced by a bowler in the second half and vice-versa.
MI's Journey In IPL 2025
Led by Hardik Pandya, MI have had a forgettable journey in the IPL 2025. They have lost three out of their four matches so far and would be keen to bounce back against RCB tonight.
