Jasprit Bumrah has been spotted bowling to IPL teammate Rohit Sharma during a nets training session for Mumbai Indians. The legendary Indian fast bowler is set to make his return to competitive cricket through his team’s upcoming IPL 2025 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Monday, April 7.
The speedster sustained a back injury in Australia back in January this year. The injury forced him out of India’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign as well as from the opening four IPL 2025 games of Mumbai Indians. As confirmed by Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene, Bumrah has now attained full recovery after ending his rehabilitation at the NCA.
Bumrah bowls to Rohit Sharma as legends tease comeback
Jasprit Bumrah looked in good shape while bowling to fellow Mumbai Indians senior Rohit Sharma during a nets training session on Sunday, April 6. Meanwhile, Sharma also looked in good nick with the bat, considering the legendary opening batter was himself ruled out of Mumbai Indians’ previous game against LSG owing to a knee injury.
As per the viral picture circulating on social media, it appears that both Jasprit Bumrah and Rohit Sharma will be making their respective returns to Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2025 match against RCB.
Rohit Sharma, however, is yet to make his presence felt for the Mumbai Indians in his first three games of IPL 2025 so far. The cricketer has managed to tally just 21 runs from three innings at a dismal batting average of seven.
Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav (first game) and Hardik Pandya (thereafter), the Mumbai Indians team has registered just a solitary win from four matches to occupy the bottom half of the IPL 2025 points table.
