WI vs IND, 2nd Test | Queen's Park Oval Would Be Full Of Spice; Pitch Curator Drops Hints

On the eve of the historic Test match between India and West Indies at the legendary Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad - the pitch curator has dropped significant hints of how the pitch would behave in the second Test of the series.

While talking exclusively to OneCricket's correspondent, the curator said he has prepared a lively pitch that would suit the West Indies pacers more. He further emphasised that the home team could be inclined towards playing a four-paceman attack, bringing Shannon Gabriel into the fold.

It is worth mentioning that on a slow turn at Windsor's Park, the Windies went on with three seamers - Alzarri Joseph, Kemar Roach and Jason Holder, and two spinners. However, they have dropped Raymon Reifer for Kevin Sinclair.

Furthermore, the curator also spoke in length about the former Indian captain Virat Kohli - who will be featuring in his 500th international fixture at Port of Spain. He cited that the conditions at the Queen's Park Oval would be favourable for the Indian batter, and he could make full use of the pace and bounce to get a three-figure mark under his belt.

Interestingly, in his last two outings at the venue, Kohli has slammed two successive ODI centuries, making the Queen's Park Oval a hunting ground for him. At Dominica, the Indian No.4 batter looked in brilliant touch but he could not convert his well-compiled knock into a century as he fell on 76 to Rahkeem Cornwall.

Nevertheless, the Rohit Sharma-led force will look to bank 12 more points to solidify their case in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC 2023-25) cycle.
