Who Can Replace KL Rahul If DC Star Fails To Recover In Time From His Knee Injury?

On Tuesday, May 20, Delhi Capitals dealt a big blow as their star batter KL Rahul walked out of the practice session with injury. Notably, Delhi Capitals will lock horns against Mumbai Indians on May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium and it is a do-or-die match for the Axar Patel-led side. 

Rahul was practising in the nets when one of Mukesh Kumar's delivery hit him on the knee cutting short his practice. At present, there is no update on Rahul's injury, but the fans are worried whether the DC would be able to be fit in time for the all-important match vs MI.

Meanwhile, this article will look at who will replace KL incase the star India batter fails to recover for MI match.

Who Will Replace KL Rahul?

The ideal replacement for KL Rahul is Karun Nair. Notably, the Karnataka-based cricketer was brought in the playing XI in the middle-phase of the tournament and in fact played his first match of the season against MI at the Arun Jaitley stadium where he smashed 89 (40) and missed out on a well-deserved century.

However, the season went downhill for the right-hand batter as he managed to score just 64 runs in his next six innings. Although with KL injured, DC might look to bring in Karun at the top, who will open the innings as Rahul was also asked to open vs GT, where he smashed a century. 

Further, DC don't even need to worry about Wicket-keeping duties as Rahul left that role in the last few games and Abishek Porel was keeping wickets for the Capitals.
