On Friday, July 4, reports emerged that India's proposed white-ball tour to Bangladesh in August is unlikely to proceed as planned. The Men in Blue were scheduled to play three T20Is and three ODIs, but the series was still in the planning stage due to deteriorating relations between the two neighbouring countries.

Following the Pahalgam incident and Bangladesh's support for Pakistan, diplomatic ties have become strained. As a result, both cricket boards were awaiting final approval from the Indian government to proceed with the bilateral series. However, it now appears that the series is set to be cancelled.

India-Bangladesh Tour To Not Go Ahead As Planned

"They have informed us that there is no India series. After announcing the tender, they did not provide the ITT. They are selling, for now, only for the Pakistan series," an Indian broadcaster told Cricbuzz.

With the India-Bangladesh series unlikely to go ahead, the return of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to the Indian team has been delayed. Both veterans are currently active only in ODIs, leaving fans eager to know when they will next see their favourite stars in action.

When Will Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma Play for India Again?

Unfortunately for fans, India do not have any ODI series scheduled in the next couple of months. Supporters will have to wait until October, when the Men in Blue travel to Australia for a multi-format white-ball tour. The Rohit Sharma-led side is set to face Australia in three ODIs from October 19 to 25.

With this return, both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will end a seven-month wait, having last played for India on March 9 in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand.
