After a heartbreaking defeat in the first Test match against England, Team India has made a mighty bounce back as they put on a strong total of 587 runs on the board in the second Test. But before stepping into the match, some of the changes in the playing XI grabbed the attention.

Kuldeep Yadav’s snub from the second Test sparked the buzz. Despite Team India piling up a strong total on the board, former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin raised eyebrows over Kuldeep’s absence from the lineup.

Ashwin Concerns Over Kuldeep’s Exclusion

After a heartbreaking defeat in the first Test, Team India underwent some potential changes. Jasprit Bumrah was rested for the match, but Kuldeep Yadav’s omission sparked discussions. The team management opted for Washington Sundar to pair up with Ravindra Jadeja in the spin department.

Kuldeep has appeared in only 13 Tests in the last eight years, and Sundar’s selection raised eyebrows. After Team India put on a massive total, former spinner Ravichandran Ashwin voiced a word of caution, hoping the side wouldn’t end up regretting Kuldeep Yadav’s absence.

“With loads of runs on the board and an England win seeming very distant, I hope India don’t miss @imkuldeep18. Sincerely hope I am wrong,” Ashwin wrote on his social media handle.

Team India In Control As England Hunt For A Comeback

Stepping into the second Test with a 0-1 setback, Team India flipped the script with their batting brilliance. While batting first, Team India faced early blows, but Jaiswal’s 80-run partnership with Karun Nair before getting out on 87 steadied India’s innings.

After that, captain Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja’s outstanding partnership navigated Team India’s innings towards a strong total. Gill led from the front with a career-best innings of 269 off 387 balls, while Jadeja’s crucial 87 added strength, guiding India to a massive 587 on the board.

Coming to bowl in the first innings, Akash Deep troubled English batters as he sent back Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope in the same over on duck. Soon after, Siraj struck to send back Zak Crawley for 19. With early wickets tumbling, Joe Root and Harry Brook stepped up to steady England’s innings.
