After the conclusion of the ongoing IPL season, the Indian players will travel to England for a five-match Test series. The tour starts on June 20, with India taking on England in the first Test at Headingley, Leeds. 

Date Revealed For India's Squad And Test Captain Announcement

After Rohit Sharma's retirement, India are searching for a fresh face to lead them in Tests. Meanwhile, according to Sports Tak, the BCCI will likely announce the new captain as well as the Test squad through a press conference on May 24. 

The report states that the press conference, where the BCCI selection committee chief Ajit Agarkar will unveil the Test squad and Rohit's successor, is set to be conducted at 12 PM IST on Saturday. 

Shubman Gill Is Likely To Succeed Rohit Sharma As Test Captain

As reported earlier, young batter Shubman Gill is the frontrunner in the race to succeed Rohit Sharma as India's Test captain. Although Jasprit Bumrah showcased remarkable leadership attributes in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, his injury-prone body has apparently forced the BCCI to remove him from the leadership group. 

India Tour Of England 2025 Schedule

The upcoming Test series against England will be India's first assignment of the upcoming World Test Championship cycle. The inaugural game will be played at Headingley before the caravan shifts to Birmingham, London and Manchester for the remaining matches. 

Ahead of the much-anticipated tour, the Indian team will participate in a four-day warm-up game at Kent County Cricket Ground in Beckenham from June 13 to 16.
