In a timeless display of batting prowess, former Pakistan captain Younis Khan channelled his inner Shahid Afridi to score a blazing fifty for Pakistan Champions in the World Championships of Legends League 2024 semi-finals against West Indies Champions.

The World Championship of Legends’ 2024 edition has been a hit, with former cricketers setting the stage on fire in England with extraordinary performances. The ex-cricketers have reversed the time clock and are reliving the good old competitive days.

Meanwhile, for the first semi-final, Pakistan Champions were up against the West Indies Champions on Friday, July 12. Pakistan batted first but collapsed to 10/3 inside the first two overs.

However, Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan staged a 79 partnership where the captain went berserk in the middle overs.

Younis Khan displayed uncharacteristic aggression and attacked the West Indies bowlers from the outset, smashing boundaries and clearing the ropes with ease.

He eclipsed Shahid Afridi’s aggression to score a fifty off just 35 balls, featuring six fours and a towering six.

His aggressive intent and fearless shot-making drew comparisons to Shahid Afridi, known for his rapid scoring and ability to change the course of a game in a few overs.

That being said, Younis Khan finished with 65 runs off 45 deliveries before Aamer Yamin and Sohail Tanvir added 60 off runs in the death overs to lift Pakistan to 198 runs total in the first innings.

Meanwhile, West Indies Champions fell short of 20 runs in the chase, thus setting up an epic final clash between Pakistan Champion and India Champions.

The high-profile game will be played on Saturday at Edgbaston Ground from 9.00 PM IST
