In a recent press conference during India's World Cup squad selection, Rohit Sharma, the Indian captain, displayed his no-nonsense attitude when a journalist probed about India's public perception in world tournaments. Sharma's response was clear - he wouldn't entertain such questions during press conferences in India.

Speaking alongside chief selector Ajit Agarkar, Sharma found himself addressing questions about India's performance in world tournaments. However, one particular inquiry seemed to have struck a nerve, prompting the captain to respond firmly.

Watch how Rohit Sharma responds:

"I have said this many times. We don't care outside the noise. Our job is not to see the outside atmosphere and play according to that. Every player in the team is a professional and have been through all these. So, I don't think it makes a huge difference."

The 15-member squad for the 2023 World Cup appears mostly similar to the one that is representing India in the ongoing Asia Cup. However, some notable omissions have raised eyebrows. Yuzvendra Chahal, Tilak Varma, Prasidh Krishna, and Sanju Samson were among the players left out of the squad.

Team India's performance in the Asia Cup 2023 has been impressive thus far. They secured their spot in the Super Four stage of the competition by defeating Nepal by 10 wickets, albeit via the DLS method, on September 4.
