Pitch invading is common in a tournament like the IPL but this year's IPL has seen a surge in pitch invaders seeking to get close to their cricketing idols. During Saturday's match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, an ardent Virat Kohli fan wearing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) jersey managed to breach security and enter the field in an attempt to meet the star RCB batter.

The charged audience of Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium bore witness to yet another exhilarating showdown between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the RCB. Amidst the thrilling on-field contest, a remarkable incident unfolded, symbolizing the unwavering passion of cricket enthusiasts, particularly those devoted to legendary Kohli. 

After scoring his slowest hundred in the IPL, Kohli was fielding in the second innings. In the midst of the second innings, a fervent Kohli supporter, sporting the renowned RCB jersey emblazoned with the cricketer's name, fearlessly breached security barriers, making his way onto the cricketing turf. Undaunted by impediments, this ardent fan sought to embrace his cricketing idol, who led RCB's valiant charge with the bat in the first innings.

Later, security officers escorted the fan for further investigation. A recent video circulating on social media depicts Kohli intervening, urging the security officer to handle the situation with care.

Kohli's reputation as an exceptional batter is matched by his compassionate nature, a trait he once again demonstrated.

This isn't the first instance this season of a fan trespassing onto the field to approach Virat Kohli illegally. During RCB’s match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) match in Bengaluru, a similar incident occurred, with a fan attempting to touch Kohli's feet but swiftly apprehended by security personnel. 

Reports suggest the fan was treated in a harsh manner by the officials. Perhaps to prevent a recurrence of such incidents, Kohli may have requested the security to exercise restraint with the fan in Jaipur.
