The Asia Cup 2023 is just around the corner, and official broadcasters are all building the hype around the continental tournament with several promotional videos and player content.

The biggest cash grab for the broadcasters remains the Group A clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, which will be held on September 2 at Pallekele. 

The high-voltage encounter is expected to produce another classic between these top Asian cricketing countries, however, Pakistan's main hurdle in beating India recently has been Virat Kohli.

Kohli has an uncanny knack for scoring crucial runs for India against Pakistan, which was the case in the Asia Cup (T20I) 2016 and 2022. Taking to social media platform, official broadcasters shared highlights of Kohli's last three Asia Cup knocks against Pakistan.

In a low-scoring match during Asia Cup 2016, India chased down 84 runs against Pakistan in Dhaka on a crumbly and tough pitch. The MS Dhoni-led side were three down for 8 when Kohli weaved his magic and scored a majestic 49 off 51 with seven fours, helping India win the tie by five wickets.

In the 2022 Asia Cup edition, Kohli failed to make an impact in the first encounter but displayed his sublime class in the Super 4 game. With India's back against the wall, Kohli delivered a masterclass of batting, scoring 60 off 44 with four 4s and one solitary six, helping the side to a respectable 181 for 7.

Kohli is already sweating it out in the gym in preparation for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 after being rested for India's ongoing T20I tour of Ireland. The Asia Cup 2023 (ODI) starts August 30, with Pakistan and Nepal clash in the tournament opener.
