The Indian cricket team carried out an intense fielding session, supervised by fielding coach T Dilip himself, at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. In a bid to prepare for the upcoming series-opening Test match against the visiting Bangladesh group, Dilip also divided the Indian team in two separate sets and organized a “competition drill” between them.

In a video released by the BCCI on their social media platforms on September 16, T Dilip said that the winner of the competition was decided by the team that committed the least errors in catching.

Virat Kohli’s team wins 'competition drill'

Team India seems to be leaving no stone unturned in their fielding preparations for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Mere days prior to the two crucial WTC fixtures, Indian fielding coach T Dilip organized an in-team competition drill between two different group of players.

In a video released by the BCCI on September 16, Dilip revealed that the team led by Virat Kohli won the competition because they committed the fewest errors during catching.

The near-two-minute-long video features an agile Virat Kohli running around to perform some intense fielding routines alongside the rest of his Indian teammates under a scorching Chennai heat at the Chepauk Stadium.

Virat Kohli recently toured Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series. Failing to register a single notable score throughout the three matches, the legendary Indian batter subsequently enjoyed a rare break away from the game.

Kohli, along with captain Rohit Sharma and other Indian players are set to host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series from September 19 onwards. The fixtures also constitute a part of the ongoing 2023-25 WTC cycle as India bids to qualify for their third successive final next year.
