The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, continued their preparation for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The team participated in an intense training session at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on September 16. All 16 squad members were present, including Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, as they geared up for the first Test set to begin on September 19.
The Indian squad's preparation is crucial, with this Test series followed by a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh in October.
During the training session, an exciting moment unfolded as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah faced off in the nets. Kohli, alongside young left-hander Yashasvi Jaiswal, took on Bumrah's wide variety of deliveries. Bumrah, known for his skillful bowling, tested Kohli with both inswingers and outswingers.
While as per the reports from Sportstar, Kohli managed to fend off most of Bumrah’s deliveries, one ball sharply jabbing back into him caught the Indian star by surprise. Jasprit Bumrah celebrated his imaginary wicket, signalling for a DRS check, but Kohli gestured that the ball was missing the leg stump, showing his disagreement with the bowler.
Virat Kohli Returns To Test Cricket Against Bangladesh
Virat Kohli’s return to the Test squad marks a significant boost for India. After missing the five-Test series against England earlier this year, Kohli’s comeback is eagerly awaited by fans and teammates alike.
Having last played a Test match on Indian soil in March 2023, Kohli is now set to rejoin the squad for the Bangladesh series after an 18-month absence. His return not only brings excitement but also adds strength to India's batting lineup.
