Apart from looking forward to India's performances in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, fans have shown excitement over who will win Team India's 'Best Fielder' medal after each match. 

In an attempt to keep the morale high within the team, the management started the trend of handing out medals to individuals who showcased excellence on the field, which has been welcomed with open arms by players and fans.

Against Bangladesh on Thursday, Ravindra Jadeja claimed his stake during fielding, taking a blinder and gesturing towards the fielding coach about earning the medal.

Post India's win, fielding coach T Dilip customarily asked wicketkeeper KL Rahul about, who should be awarded the medal, for which Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav were top contenders.

However, uniquely, Dilip firstly acknowledged the efforts, and then announced the recipient on the stadium's big screen, as the players erupted in joy after seeing Jadeja's name.

Almost all the players crammed Dilip and celebrated the uncommon announcement, after which Rahul handed Jadeja the medal.

Jadeja, who admitted to the celebration being dedicated towards Dilip, ended up giving the medal to the fielding coach.

Interestingly, fourth umpire Marais Erasmus also urged fielding coach to give Jadeja the 'Best Fielder' medal while being seated on the sidelines.
