Team India’s preparations are in full swing in New York for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, set to begin on June 2. Indian captain Rohit Sharma has been seen putting in extensive work in the nets in order to acclimate to the conditions in the USA before Men in Blue's warm-up affair against Bangladesh.

With India considered one of the top contenders for the title, India's batting unit will play an important role in the mega event.

For India to break their trophy drought, Rohit will need to lead by example and score heavily at the top of the order. Showing his commitment, Rohit hit the nets early, with Star Sports posting a short video of the Indian captain diligently practicing.

In the video, Rohit is seen focusing on timing the ball rather than hitting it aggressively. The 37-year-old veteran has struggled for form recently, despite scoring over 400 runs in this year’s IPL. Throughout the season, the right-handed batter looked rusty.

Rohit holds the record for the most T20 World Cup matches played, with 39 appearances. However, his average of 34.39 and a strike rate of 127.9 have often been seen as underwhelming. All eyes will be on him to reverse his fortunes in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The Hitman is expected to be in action when India faces Bangladesh in a warm-up game on June 1 at the newly built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This match will help him get accustomed to the unfamiliar pitch conditions in the USA.
