Afghanistan star Rashid Khan, currently in India, caught up with former Indian captain MS Dhoni ahead of his side’s much-awaited World Cup 2023 challenge against Pakistan. The two cricketers posed together for some pictures, which instantly went viral across social media.

Rashid Khan catches up with MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni was recently spotted in Chennai where he met Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan. Last week, the Afghanistan cricket team set their base at Chennai’s M. A. Chidambaram Stadium for their World Cup 2023 fixtures against New Zealand and Pakistan.

While they lost their New Zealand segment by 149 runs, Hashmatullah Shahidi and co. will now face Pakistan on October 23 at the same venue. Rashid Khan, one of the integral members of Afghanistan’s World Cup 2023 side, posed alongside MS Dhoni after the latter arrived in Chennai on October 21.

The two cricketers already share a great camaraderie with each other, as evidenced from their numerous friendly exchanges during IPL matches in India.

Afghanistan team sustained massive defeats at the hands of Bangladesh and India upfront in their 2023 World Cup campaign. However, they conjured up enough resilience to upset defending champions England next-up by 69 runs in Delhi.

Rashid Khan himself turned out to be one of the architects of Afghanistan’s historic win as the ace spinner claimed two crucial wickets and scored 23 handy runs with the bat.

With a solitary win from four games, Afghanistan team is currently placed among the bottom four sides on the World Cup 2023 points table.
