Only two teams to have retained the winning ways after two weeks of riveting battle at the ICC World Cup 2023, India and New Zealand lock horns for their next league-stage encounter in Dharamshala on Sunday (October 21).

While Rohit Sharma and company enter the battleground at the scenic HPCA Stadium after humbling Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh on the bounce, the Black Caps have hammered England, Netherlands, Bangladesh and Afghanistan in their campaign so far.

Despite taking on the in-form tournament hosts, the Kiwis start off the coming fixture as slight favourites keeping in mind the pitch and the overall conditions on offer in Dharamshala.

Given the surface at the scenic ground offers pacers swing and late seam movement, the Black Caps new-ball attack is expected to provide a stiff challenge to the renowned Indian top-order and put the rest of the line-up under pressure.

India have the history staked against them heading into the Dharamshala bout. The Men In Blue haven't clinched victory over the Kiwis in an ICC World Cup since comfortably beating the perennial darkhorses in the Super 6s stage of the 2003 edition in South Africa. Overall, too, India have a negative 3-5 record in eight previous World Cup clashes between the two sides.
