Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi equalled his father-in-law Shahid Afridi's unique ODI World Cup record for Pakistan on Friday, October 20 while playing against Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The Pakistan pacer picked five wickets for 54 runs in 10 overs and became just the second player from the country after father-in-law Shahid Afridi to claim two five-wicket hauls in ODI World Cups.
However, Shaheen Afridi’s brilliance with the ball was not enough as Pakistan suffered a 62-run defeat at the hands of Australia. The Babar Azam-led side bundled out for 305 runs while chasing a 368-run target.

Australia were in control, heading for a 400-plus total, when Afridi intervened by breaking the 259-run partnership between their star openers David Warner and Mitchell Marsh.
Shaheen dismissed Marsh, who had scored 121 runs off 108 deliveries. Glenn Maxwell's innings was cut short with a golden duck, as the star pacer also scalped the wickets of Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood.
