[Watch] Punjab Kings Express Love For Shikhar Dhawan With Dhoni-Esque Retirement Post

Shikhar Dhawan announced his retirement from international and domestic cricket on Saturday, 24th August with a video on his official Instagram handle. 

Since then, there have been tributes pouring for the left-handed batter from all corners. His IPL team Punjab Kings have also come up with an interesting caption to their post making it similar to the one Dhoni wrote during his retirement announcement.

The Southpaw posted a video of his retirement at 7:27 AM IST, and Punjab Kings used that timing to make it a Dhoni-like caption which read - 'From 07:27 hours, consider Shikhi paa as retired! 🥺♥️.'

Along with the caption, Punjab Kings posted a nice video as well where they included all beautiful moments of Shikhar Dhawan in the Punjab camp. It included moments with Preity Zinta, other Punjab players and even with his long-time friend Virat Kohli. 

Uncertainty Over Shikhar Dhawan's Participation In IPL 2025

Shikhar Dhawan led Punjab Kings in five matches of 2024 IPL season, but could not play the remaining games of the season due to a shoulder injury. There is uncertainty over his participation in the next IPL season, but regardless of his future, he would go down as one of the finest openers in ODIs for India and in IPL.
