The Champions Trophy 2025 started with a big hype around the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium. There was a grand ceremony to inaugurate the stadium and three stadiums, the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Stadium in Karachi and the Rawalpindi Cricket stadium were renovated in PCB's 12.80 Billion Project.

Leakage In Washroom Of Gaddafi Stadium Sparks Outrage

However, throughout the tournament, there have been shades of lacklustre facilities at the ground. The rain though exposed the harsh reality in a clearer way as a short spell of rain in the game between Afghanistan and Australia damaged the outfield badly and the game had to be abandon in Rawalpindi. Now, another video of leakage in the washroom floor of Gaddafi stadium has been revealed and it has sparked widespread criticism of PCB.

The shocking video presents the poor facility at the stadium where the water is leaking from all corners after a short spell of rain. The video is of Fazal Mahmood Enclosure and it has raised concern of a big corruption scandal in Pakistan cricket. The PCB chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has often boasted of completing the renovation of the stadiums in record time, but his role in the whole process is now likely to be questioned.

Pakistan are hosting an ICC tournament after a gap of 27 years, but the fans have been left devastated with performance of their cricket team and poor facilities at the ground. The Pakistan cricket team crashed out of the group stage with two consecutive losses against New Zealand and India while their third game was washed out due to rain.
