Anushka Sharma's Reaction to Kohli dismissal (Source:@kuchnahi1269083/X.com)
Virat Kohli's wicket has always been one of the most precious wickets for the opposition team in the last decade or so. If the man gets set, he rarely throws away his wicket, and it was expected that the star batter would build on his century against the Kiwis with another big knock.
Glenn Phillips Pulls Off A Blinder To Dismiss Virat Kohli
He did hit two boundaries, but a stunning catch from one and only Glenn Phillips ended his knock, and it shocked not only the Indian batter, but also his wife, Anushka Sharma sitting in the stands. It was the fourth delivery of the seventh over and Matt Henry bowled it short and wide outside off.
Kohli played a fierce cut shot, but did not keep it on ground as the ball went right of the point fielder. Glenn Phillips dived full length and then plucked the ball out of thin air with one hand, continuing his habit of pulling off blinders. Virat Kohli stood there in disbelief while Anushka Sharma was seen nodding her head in disbelief.
Kohli's wicket reduced India to 30 for 3 in no time as Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma also failed to make an impact against a disciplined bowling attack of the Kiwis. Both the teams have qualified for the semis though and the winner of this game would play Australia in the semifinal while the loser will take on South Africa.
For India to win though, they need the middle order to step up and take the score close to 300, to challenge the rampant Black Caps batting line-up.
