Rohit Sharma led Team India touched down in Mumbai on Monday afternoon, evoking nostalgic emotions for Indian fans across the globe.

Mumbai wrapped in nostalgia as Team India landed in the city for SL match

As they set foot in the city, memories of the thrilling World Cup 2011 final resurfaced, a match where India thumped Sri Lanka at the very same Wankhede Stadium. The upcoming clash against the Lankans on November 2 promises to be more than just a game, as it reignites memories of a decade ago.

A video capturing the team's arrival is creating waves across social media platforms. In the video, captain Rohit along with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, gracefully made their way out of the airport towards the team bus.

Close behind were the likes of the pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and seasoned spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The frame was further beautified with glimpses of the dynamic Suryakumar Yadav, the promising Shubman Gill, and the explosive wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan. The presence of head coach Rahul Dravid added gravitas to the moment.

Meanwhile, India's recent on-field exploits has only increased the anticipation for the upcoming game. Their last outing saw them decimating the defending champions, England, by a whopping 100 runs at Lucknow.

The English team's aspirations for a semi-final spot now hang precariously, having faced their fifth loss in six games. Spearheading India's dominant performance was Rohit, with a calm and composed knock of 87 as India posted 229/9. However, the score, which many believed was a tad modest, proved to be an insurmountable mountain for the English batsmen as they were bowled out for a measly 129.

With an unbeaten record in this World Cup edition, securing six wins from as many games, Team India stands tall. Victory against Sri Lanka will firmly stamp their authority and secure their semi-final berth.
