In a promising development, Pakistan's pacer Naseem Shah was seen bowling in the nets for the first time since getting injured, as the young pace sensation released a video of himself bowling without any complaints of pain or discomfort on Wednesday. This positive development comes ahead of the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9.

Having been sidelined for several months due to the injury, Naseem missed big events such as the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup and Pakistan's Test series against Australia, where they suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat. Due to his fitness issues, he was not included in the T20I squad for Pakistan's upcoming five-match series against New Zealand, starting on January 12 in Auckland.

The 20-year-old pacer, known for his raw pace and control, can be seen bowling at full tilt during the net session, displaying a seamless blend of inswing and outswing. The video shared by Naseem on the social media platform ‘X’, depicted him uprooting a lone planted stump multiple times, showing no apparent signs of rustiness.

Currently in the final stage of his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Naseem is closely monitored by a team comprising a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist, and a doctor. His progress is a positive sign for cricket fans across the globe, indicating his imminent return to competitive action.

Looking ahead, Naseem is set to represent Islamabad United in the upcoming PSL 9 following a major trade with Quetta Gladiators in December. Despite a competitive bidding war between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi for his services, Naseem opted to join Islamabad United, teaming up with his brothers Hunain and Obaid Shah for the upcoming PSL season. The tournament is scheduled to kick off next month, with Lahore Qalandars looking to defend their title.

Meanwhile, PSL 9 will be played from February 17 to March 17, with matches taking place in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan. Karachi is set to host 11 matches. Lahore and Rawalpindi will host nine games each, while Multan will play host to five matches.

However, Pakistani fans will be more eager to see Naseem Shah back in action for the Men in Green.
