The IPL fever has gripped cricket fans in India as the 2025 season is set to begin from March 22. The first game will be played between defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, to create hype around the upcoming season, official broadcasters Star Sports released a heartwarming ad campaign on social media.

IPL 2025 Ad Makes Fans Emotional

Star Sports has touched an emotional chord with its new IPL 2025 promo, wonderfully depicting the heartwarming relationship between a mother and her son. The video shows a mother watching an IPL game late at night despite not understanding some concepts.

When the father asks her to sleep, she reveals that IPL is the reason that she gets to talk to her son everyday for an extra 10 minutes as her son lives away from her in a hostel.

The touching video has already gone viral as fans appreciated Star Sports’ efforts to unite IPL with emotions.

Meanwhile, the IPL 2025 season will begin on March 22 in Kolkata and will conclude at the same venue on May 25. KKR will be the defending champions as they won the title last year, beating SRH in a one-sided final.

IPL To Introduce Partial Replacement For Wicket-Keepers

In a major policy update, the BCCI has clarified the Partial Replacement Rule for IPL 2025, allowing franchises to make short-term player replacements under specific conditions.

If a player suffers a season-ending injury before or during a team's 12th league match, the franchise can bring in a replacement. A special exemption is also available for wicket-keepers.

If a franchise has no available keepers in its squad for a match, it can request a temporary replacement from the BCCI. However, this replacement will be immediately removed once a regular wicketkeeper becomes fit.
