Mohammed Siraj kicked off his preparations with an intense training session at the Gymkhana Ground. The speedster is slated to turn up for Hyderabad in their upcoming Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Himachal Pradesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
It is worth noting that Siraj was excluded from the Indian team for the upcoming ICC 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan and in the UAE.
Mohammed Siraj kick-offs Ranji Trophy training
Mohammed Siraj is, apparently, gearing up for Hyderabad’s next Ranji Trophy 2024-25 match against Himachal Pradesh. As per a video shared by Hyderabad Cricket on their social media platforms, the speedster can be spotted kicking off his training at the Gymkhana Ground.
Mohammed Siraj recently toured Australia as part of the travelling Indian unit for a five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series. The 30-year-old picked up 20 wickets in the series, and provided considerable assistance to in-form Jasprit Bumrah. However, Team India ended up losing the series by a 1-3 margin to concede a Border-Gavaskar Test title to Australia for the first time in over a decade.
In a move that surprised many, Siraj was dropped by the BCCI from the Indian squad for the upcoming 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. It is worth noting that the Indian speedster had a prolific run with the ball during India’s previous two high-profile ODI tournaments, including the 2023 Asia Cup in Sri Lanka and in the 2023 World Cup at home.
Nonetheless, Hyderabad is slated to face Himachal Pradesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium between January 23 and January 26 for an Elite Group B match of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. The Hyderabad cricket team is currently ranked sixth on the eight-team Group B points table, having accumulated nine points from five games.
