Indian spinner Axar Patel, known for his quirky sense of humour, produced yet another comical moment at the BCCI Awards 2024 in front of his teammates as well as in front of the entire visiting English team management.
When the cricketer was invited on stage to collect the award for ‘Best International Debut’, he was asked by host and prominent commentator Harsha Bhogle if he has made any specific plans for English batters for their forthcoming five-match Test series.

Axar Patel is expected to start out as one of the most crucial members of India’s starting XI against England, considering his all-round diligence was instrumental in powering his side to a 2-1 series win at home over Australia last year.

Patel also bagged the prestigious award for Best International Debut (Men) at the 2024 BCCI Awards, just a couple of days prior to the commencement of India’s five-match series against England at Hyderabad.
Interestingly, the ace spinner was promptly asked by commentator Harsha Bhogle if he has made any plans to counter the Englishmen. The 30-year-old, in response, comically refused to divulge any information by saying that he will not be speaking anything in front of England’s head coach Brendon McCullum in the audience.

Team India will be commencing their five-match Test series against England from January 25 onwards. The much-awaited series opener will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
