Australian batter Marnus Labuschagne has been lately struggling with his form in red-ball cricket. In the 17 Tests he has played for Australia since 2023, Labuschagne has only registered one century and six half-centuries.

The Australian team management has been alarmed by Marnus Labuschagne’s poor form but has backed him time and again in the hope of an impactful innings.

Ahead of the 2nd Test against New Zealand, Marnus Labuschagne was recently spotted practising in the nets with former New Zealand captain and current Assistant Coach of Australia, Daniel Vettori. 

In the video, Labuschagne is seen playing a cut shot and immediately after playing the shot, he is heard saying, 

'Oh, Shubman again.'

In the team’s previous match against New Zealand in Wellington, Marnus Labuschagne managed to score a single and double in 27 and 13 deliveries, respectively. Labuschagne was dismissed by Scott Kuggeleijn and Tim Southee in the first and second innings respectively, and couldn’t create any magic against the Kiwis in the game.

Australia and New Zealand will next lock horns for the last Test of the series at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch from 8th March. The game will provide yet another chance for Marnus Labuschagne to register a remarkable knock for Australia and mark his comeback.
