Bhopal Leopards' captain, Arshad Khan, showcased his all-round brilliance to steer his team to a six-wicket win over Rewa Jaguars in Match 7 of the Madhya Pradesh T20 League on Wednesday in Gwalior.

Winning the toss, the Jaguars elected to bat first. Arshad Khan, taking the new ball, delivered a brilliant performance.

He removed opener Prithviraj Singh Tomar in his second over with a cunningly disguised slower ball. Tomar, deceived by the change in pace, chipped a simple catch to Aniket Verma at covers, departing for 18 runs.

The Lucknow Super Giants star, returned in the 18th over to claim Shubham Rathore's wicket with his very first delivery, dismissing him for a mere 5 runs and eventually the Jaguars were bowled out for a modest 141.


In pursuit of the target, Bhopal Leopards displayed nerves of steel as they chased the target comprehensively. Aniket Verma remained unbeaten with a crucial 34 off 22 balls.

Arshad Khan, batting at No. 6, contributed a quickfire 14 off 8 balls, including a four and a six. Verma sealed the victory with a boundary on the penultimate ball of the 19th over, securing Bhopal's first win after two consecutive losses.

Although Arshad didn't get many chances to shine in IPL 2024, with just one wicket in four matches at an economy of 11.21, he had turned heads with his batting, notably with a blazing 25-ball fifty (58*) against Delhi Capitals.

Now, his leadership and all-round performance in the Madhya Pradesh T20 League have proven his mettle once again. Bhopal Leopards' win, led by Arshad Khan's heroics, has certainly put them back on track in the tournament.
