The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final between India and New Zealand in Mumbai attracted both national and international eyeballs. The semi-final clash on Wednesday was attended by former England football captain and legend David Beckham, who visited India for the first time as an ambassador for UNICEF.
Before the start of play, Beckham entered the field and interacted with both Indian and New Zealand players, who greeted the Inter Miami President and Co-owner with warmth, including spinner Kuldeep Yadav.
In a video shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Instagram, Yadav could be heard talking about his second passion football and chatting over their mutual admiration for Lionel Messi.
In response, a support staff member introduced Yadav as a football pundit apart from being an excellent cricketer. The left-arm wrist spinner also asked Beckham to convey his message to former Manchester United legend Gary Neville.
Excerpts from Yadav's conversation
"Technically I am very strong in that. After cricket, I am probably gonna join some management. Big fan of Barcelona. I love watching Messi."
