It was an emotional and heartwarming day for the Indian fans on Thursday, July 4, when the World Champion Indian side returned to the country after being stuck for four days in Barbados because of Cyclone Beryl.

Upon landing in New Delhi, the players met PM Modi and headed for Mumbai for a bus parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede and then a felicitation ceremony at the stadium.

The fans turned up in lakhs, and it was a sight to behold as that night will go down in history as one of the most iconic events in Indian cricket. Even after reaching Wankhede, the veteran players addressed the crowd and did a victory lap. However, the moment that stood out from the rest was when the players sang 'Vande Mataram' along with the crowd.

It was an emotional night for Virat Kohli as well. The 35-year-old announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game after T20 World Cup 2024 final.
