The immense popularity of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli transcends well beyond the cricketing realm, considering the two legendary Indian batters also seems to have captivated a number of Bollywood elites. Their influence extends far beyond the pitch, demonstrating the profound impact of their charisma and achievements on India’s cultural landscape.

Ahead of RCB’s high-stakes IPL 2024 showdown against defending champions CSK, tournament’s official broadcasters shared a two-minute-long video where several Bollywood icons can be seen naming their picks between Kohli and Dhoni, two of the biggest star-attractions of their respective IPL franchises.

Salman, Rashmika among others pick between Kohli, Dhoni

On May 17, Star Sports Network shared a compilation footage featuring several Bollywood stars naming their favorites between former CSK captain MS Dhoni and ex-RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Celebrities like Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Vijay Deverakonda and Sara Ali Khan all gave their respective picks after they were asked to choose one of the two Indian cricket icons.

While Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif named MS Dhoni as their favorite by citing the cricketer’s humble and ‘peaceful’ persona, Rashmika Mandanna picked Virat and also described herself a fan of the RCB franchise.

Both Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni will soon be seen taking on each other during RCB’s home game against CSK on May 18. The much-awaited contest will be staged at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The match marks a must-win one for the RCB franchise in their bid for qualifying for the IPL 2024 playoffs. For the defending champions, a win by any margin or even a no-result will guarantee them a spot in the top four.
