India's young, stylish batter, Shubman Gill, has been one of the consistent performers for his side, especially in the ODI format. Not just with the bat, the right-hander has specifically been one of India's top fielders since his debut back in 2019 against New Zealand.

Shubman Gill's Fantastic Catches Vs England

Now, during the ongoing second ODI against England, Shubman Gill took two brilliant diving catches of Harry Brook and Jos Buttler in Cuttack.

On the fourth ball of the 30th over, Brook played a lofted shot, seeing which Gill ran backwards and dived to grab a stunner, sending the English youngster back for 31, ending his innings. Then, later in the 39th over, Shubman also bagged English keeper Jos Buttler's catch to dismiss him for 34.

While all this happened, Shubman Gill, who has been excellent on the field since his debut with 34 catches to his name in his overall ODI career. As he has only dropped four catches in his entire one-day format career, his catching efficiency is 89.4%, which is the highest for any Indian player in ODI cricket since 2019, according to CricViz Analyst Soham Sarkhel.

Moreover, he has a ratio of 0.723 dismissals per innings in his ODIs. Gill's antics have helped India mainly on the field because of his athleticism while running and grabbing unbelievable catches.

Whereas overall in world cricket, he's only behind England's Jos Buttler and Australia's Marnus Labuschagne, both of whom have an efficiency of 90.7% and 90%, respectively. Additionally, Buttler has grasped 69 catches in his career, as opposed to Marnus' 36 catches.

England Lose Seven After 48 overs

Talking about the game currently going on, England are 287 for seven after the end of 48 overs with Liam Livingstone and Adil Rashid still at the crease. While Ravindra Jadeja has bagged three wickets, Varun Chakravarthy, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur have one wicket apiece.
