Star cricketer Virat Kohli is all set to make his much-anticipated return to domestic cricket, joining the Delhi team for the Ranji Trophy. On Sunday, Kohli was spotted at Mumbai Airport, exuding style in a grey T-shirt and an orange cap. His arrival has already created a buzz among cricket fans, as he gears up to hit the field after a long hiatus from first-class cricket.

The former Indian captain will begin training with the Delhi Ranji Trophy team at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday, January 28. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has confirmed that Kohli will be practicing after 10 a.m. under strict arrangements to ensure a smooth training session.

Kohli has been named in Delhi’s squad for the final group stage of the Ranji Trophy, which kicks off on January 30. This will mark his first appearance in first-class cricket since 2012, when he last played for Delhi against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad.

To accommodate Kohli’s star status and the excitement surrounding his participation, the DDCA has stepped up security measures. Additional private security personnel will be deployed, and Delhi Police has been informed to manage the heightened attention.

Good news for cricket lovers—entry to the Arun Jaitley Stadium will remain free for spectators. To accommodate the expected influx of fans, two additional stands at the Ambedkar Stadium end will be opened. Gate numbers 7, 15, and 16 will be accessible to the public.

Virat Kohli’s return to the Ranji Trophy is significant, not just for his fans but also for Indian cricket. His last appearance in the tournament was in November 2012, where he played against Uttar Pradesh. Since then, Kohli has become a mainstay in India’s national team, dominating international cricket across all formats.
